About QCulture

A Queensland company
run by passionate fishermen.

QCulture is incorporated in Australia for the sole purpose of establishing and operating the QCulture Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS).

Company founders, Bob Tucker and David Mann, are passionate recreational fishermen. They’re dedicated to establishing and operating a sustainable and environmentally-friendly enclosed aquaculture system.

Both Bob and David have lifelong respect for the importance of maintaining balance within marine ecosystems. Their vision is to create and establish a sustainable and future-focused operation that can produce premium quality seafood in a bio-secure food production environment.

Where we are

meal, fish, seafood

QCulture’s Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) is at Woorim on Queensland’s Bribie Island.

The 2.69-hectare site is situated within the Greater Brisbane Region of Moreton Bay. The site originally hosted a convention centre that has since been demolished.

It’s adjacent to the CSIRO’s Bribie Island Aquaculture Research Centre. This is an advantage from a community, research, environmental, commercial and operational perspective. It has access to the CSIRO’s established seawater pipeline.

Close to the Sunshine Coast airport and the Bruce Highway, the QCulture RAS is in an ideal location for producing sustainable seafood that can be transported both fresh and chilled by road or air.

The on-site facilities include an insulated, biosecure building. It will house:

  • a hatchery
  • production facility
  • associated infrastructure.

Fish will not be processed on-site. Instead all fish will be transported in a live environment for local and export markets.
